Hey There

Breakthroughs is a women’s wellness space born out of honesty, softness, and curiosity.
It’s where science meets sisterhood — and where I share what I’ve learned (and continue to learn) about hormones, healing, and finding balance in a body that’s constantly changing.

This isn’t just a blog. It’s a journey — mine, yes, but also ours.
A place for the teen navigating her first period.
The young woman healing from burnout.
The grown woman re-learning what rest even looks like.

I started Breakthroughs because I was tired of Googling things and getting either too clinical or too vague. So I made the thing I couldn’t find: a space that’s smart, soft, and grounded in both science and real-life stories.

If you’ve ever felt confused, overlooked, or just off in your body — welcome.
You’re in the right place.

All About Me

As you know by now, my name is Breakthroughs. I'm a teenager and an aspiring surgeon. This women's health blog is a safe space for all women everywhere to be able to learn about their health and health challenges. I post every week (save for some little breaks I take on occasion) and I'm planning to post either bi or tri-weekly this coming summer.

My first "Women's Health" encounter was when I first got my period. For the first few months, it didn't really hurt. However, by the third month I had gotten my period, I was consistently circling around my room in immense pain for the first 2 days of every cycle. I would be running to the bathroom to throw up every few minutes. It was unbearable. I didn't know that there were remedies available to curb the pain, so I suffered like this for about a year. The only things that helped were when my mom would make me make-shift hot packs to put on my belly. The pain would subside and i would feel relief for a few hours until the pain came back. What I had wished to have most at this time, was a forum where i could speak to girls my age who were going through the same thing, and older teenagers/women who could give me more advice. I needed a place where I could share my experiences. This is that place. Breakthroughs, by Ayomide is a safe space, where we as women and young ladies can come together to understand each other in medical challenges and more.

I'm committed to making sure we, as women, have a place to share our beliefs and health stories. This blog can and will thrive as the women around the world thrive through it.

Thank you so very much for being here, and I hope you'll stick around.

-Love, Ayomide
